Robb Wetmore is a science-fiction author, futurist, and unapologetic nerd based in Oklahoma City. When he’s not leading digital-health innovation at a large community health center, he’s busy exploring the edges of artificial intelligence, galactic politics, and what it truly means to be human—on the page, of course.
His debut novel, The Shadow of Light, launched the Seana Byrne series and introduced readers to a future where faith, rebellion, and AI collide. Its sequel, Edge of Defiance, continued that exploration with sharper teeth and bigger stakes. Now, Robb is deep into the Stellar Reach series, with Odyssey One and its follow-up Aurorae, taking readers across the stars to new colonies, synthetic consciousness, and the moral gray zones of survival.
A fan of hard sci-fi with a beating human heart, Robb blends realistic science with emotional storytelling. His work draws on his background in digital healthcare, his fascination with consciousness, and a lifelong obsession with “what if?” questions.
When not writing, Robb can be found making sarcastic comments while attending cons in search of fellow story junkies, or cooking suspiciously good food.

As humanity looks to the stars, the possibility of colonizing other planets becomes ever more plausible. But what ethical questions arise when we consider colonizing worlds beyond Earth? From terraforming to the displacement of potential alien life, this panel will explore the moral quandaries surrounding space colonization, examining how these issues are handled in speculative fiction and how they may play out in the real world.
