Rachel Karch (R Karch Photography)
Rachel Karch is a multidisciplinary artist, instructional designer, and community leader based in Oklahoma City. A former social-studies teacher, Rachel’s passion for education has always been matched by her deep love of the arts. From a young age, she found joy in drawing, painting, and creating—interests that have grown into a wide range of artistic pursuits including sculpting, photography, fiber works, tattoo design, and cosplay.
Since launching R Karch Photography in 2020, Rachel has developed a specialty in composite photography and bold visual storytelling. She has photographed several dozen conventions and creative events, capturing everything from high-energy cosplay to burlesque and community gatherings. Her work is known for its vibrant color, fantasy influence, and emotional narrative.
Rachel currently serves as an instructional designer for suicide prevention services at the University of Oklahoma, where she develops engaging, trauma-informed learning experiences to support mental health and crisis-response initiatives.
She is also the Director of People and Culture for Soonercon, where she leads vendor communications, volunteer coordination, accessibility initiatives, and event planning. In the cosplay community, Rachel is a master cosplayer and admin for Oklahoma Cosplayers, with over 15 years of experience. She actively supports the growth of safe, inclusive spaces and helps organize meetups, conventions, and local events.
