Join the Soonercon Planning Committee

Did you know Soonercon is entirely volunteer run? Our planning committee is a tight-knit group of local fans who work hard to make all the fun happen. Soonercon is a part of the nonprofit 501(c)3 Future Society of Oklahoma.

We have a number of committee openings if you’d like to help make magic with us! Committee members get free weekend membership, full Green Room access, discounts at the convention store, and various perks and swag throughout the year.

Soonercon is a great way to build your resume, get community service hours, and make life-long professional connections and friendships.

Web Designer

Design, develop, and maintain the event’s website to ensure an engaging and user-friendly experience.

Head of Photography

Lead the photography team to capture high-quality images that document and potentially promote the event.

Content Contributor

Generate content for programming and marketing. This could be panel and workshop ideas or social media posts. Creatives wanted!

Senior Network Administrator

Manage and maintain all technical network systems during the convention.

Project Manager

Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure all projects and tasks are completed on time and within scope.

Head Cashier

Manage all cashiering functions, ensuring efficient and accurate transactions during the event and oversee shifts for all cashiers.

Counselor

Provide emotional and mental health support to staff and volunteers as needed.

Volunteer Outreach Assistant

Assist the volunteer managers. Support the recruitment, training, and coordination of volunteers for the convention weekend.

Head of Sponsorships

Develop and manage relationships with sponsors to secure funding and resources for the event.

Internal Communications Coordinator

Ensure clear and effective communication across all internal teams to foster collaboration and efficiency.
